VariCook Single Induction Hob Hotplate 1800W

Modern induction hob with 1800W power, 10 adjustable power/temperature settings and timed cooking programs.
Suitable for cookware with a diameter of 12 to 26 cm.
Silver casing with easy-to-clean surface design.

The Klarstein VariCook Single is a convenient induction hob for modern individuals and student budgets.

A substantial 1800W of power can be accessed in 10 power levels as needed. Alternatively, power may also be adjusted according to the desired target temperature between 60 and 240 ° C, so that water baths, stews, and soups may be set and held at a constant ideal temperature.
The highlight of the device is the power and temperature mode. Set your cooking programs to automatically shut off at the end of the cooking process, designated either by temperature or power. This is especially handy when preparing highly time-sensitive dishes such as rice, pasta, casseroles, or lightly steamed vegetables. To alert you to the automatic shutoff, the Klarstein induction hob announces the end of the cooking program with a beep.
Designed to accommodate cookware between 12 and 26 cm, the induction cooking plate is large enough to fit most common pot and pan sizes for one to two people. The modern design makes the VariCook single hob an understated yet chic device, whose continuous casing surface reduces the effective cleaning time to a minimum.
With its compact size and flat design, the Klarstein VariCook Single is ideal for use in cramped kitchenettes, garden houses, and mobile homes.

You will find more information about suitable pots and cooking utensils in the users manual.

This induction hotplate is very handy, takes up little space on the worktop and in the kitchen cupboard. Easy to use after a short period of getting used to it, very easy to clean, noise level within limits. The only small drawback is that the rotary control often does not react immediately to the setting and turns a little while idling until it accepts the desired temperature setting. I find it very positive that induction heats up much faster than a ceramic hob, which means that the cooking time is also somewhat shorter. I only use brand quality pots from Fissler or WMF. Am very happy with it. A schnitzel pan with a very thin base from Riess, which was said to be suitable for induction, broke.

Also zb 2 sekunden Leistung, dann wieder nichts.

I usually cook on infrared. So for about 14 years since I immigrated to Germany at the time. I still don't understand why German kitchens don't have a gas connection. Something is being burned in the power plant, for example gas. The chemical energy is converted into heat. Then again in pressure and movement, then in electrical energy. This is transported to my kitchen with a huge loss, where I convert it back into heat. Every time I cook, a physics teacher somewhere gets short of breath... I bought a single record pretty quickly. It has accompanied me for many years and now unfortunately broke. I used them mainly for the wok. This is just about possible with induction, but all other types of stoves do not have enough heat transfer. The advantages of induction over other types are clear. Whereby even induction does not come close to gas. I've been using the plate more and more and will probably switch completely to induction in the next kitchen. I have now ordered this one. I have to say the moment I sent the order, the old one worked again. Since both plates are in the same price range, I can compare them well. This one definitely has better heat distribution. When you boil water or melt margarine, you can see it clearly. With the old plate, it only boiled in one area, like a ring. This one distributes the energy much more evenly. At first I thought it was because of the cheap pots. The temperature modes are complete nonsense. It's already boiling at 60 degrees. How is the plate supposed to know what the temperature in the pot is? There are plates to which you can connect a sensor that you then hang in the pot. So the temperature setting is a joke. If there weren't any temperature options, I would have given it one more star. The buttons for operation are under a foil. No touch things that don't work when your fingers are wet. I really like that. i hate touch Who Needs Touch? The rotary wheel for setting the power is practical. Much better than buttons that you have to press x times. However, the performance levels are not real. It just turns on and off every few seconds. So eg 2 seconds of power, then nothing again. So something can still start when you keep it warm. If the pot has a really thick bottom, it's just fine. The rotary knob is difficult to turn, as if it were stuck somewhere. This is not very comfortable and indicates poor workmanship. It also has small steps like the volume controls on the amplifier. However, it does not react reliably to every rotation. Conclusion: a good device for the price. Temperature mode fool. Not processed very valuable. All the properties advertised in the item description, fast heating, easy to clean, etc., are a matter of course for an induction plate. The comparisons relate to other stove types. That would be like a car manufacturer praising their car: faster than a bicycle, twice as many tires.... I should actually have to deduct a star for the description. But 3 stars because the device performs quite well compared to other devices in the price range.

I chose Klarstein because I've had a professional mixer from this company for years and because the plate was very cheap as a warehouse deal. Goods came after 5 days, that was great; However, I was amazed that the record was only lying in a thin plastic cover in the box, no bubble wrap around it!!!! Small scratches on the front, but they don't bother me. Switch the device on right away and use it to boil water for tea: 1.5 liters of water boil in 3 minutes at 2,000 watts, wonderful. Like all induction plates, it's a bit noisy when in use, but I'm used to that. So far I'm completely thrilled, don't notice anything that wouldn't be good about it. Hope it lasts quite a long time again; accidentally melted my old one off when I turned on the stovetop it was sitting on without realizing it. :) Luckily nothing happened, except that a few dioxins were released.

I bought the Varicook to be able to do stinky frying on the balcony. In the meantime, the device has almost completely replaced my stovetop and I only cook with induction because you can regulate the temperatures immediately with the device. It's also great for outdoor fans, as you can ideally work with heavy cast-iron pans and pots that heat up in seconds due to the magnetic energy. I even bought a cast iron wok with it now. You should be careful not to use pots that are too small, as the magnetic field may be harmful to your health.

Also nicht wegdrehen beim Kochen/Braten!

I never thought that an induction hob would fascinate me so much! The food is warm or fried in minutes, a fraction of the time compared to a "normal" electric hob. I've now also bought extra cooking pots so that I can only use the induction hotplate (20-year-old pots just didn't have this standard). Absolute recommendation for people with little time or patience when cooking :D just be careful: everything can burn faster! So don't turn away when cooking/roasting!

the temperature control should be able to be taken in smaller steps. Since the steps in 300 intervals is too high when cooking and roasting some products. it is a very good device.

*It is a free review copy. We have been using a separate induction hob for our ceramic hob for some time. And we don't want to do without this comfort anymore. Once induction, always induction. The hob is very attractive. The induction plate is framed in silver-colored plastic. The control panel is pulled down. So that the whole thing is stable, there are 4 feet. The cooking circle has markings. 11 and 19 cm. According to the manufacturer, it fits cookware from 11 cm to 26 cm. But if the bottom of the pan is bigger, that works too. To the control panel. It's kept simple. The child safety device, which is annoying for us, is not used here. It is operated using touch keys. They react immediately. Under the menu button you can choose between P/C or/Clock. Under P hides Watt. Starting from 200/400/600/800/1000/1100/1200/1400/1600 W. Under C hides degrees. Starting from 60/80/100/120/140/160/180/200/220/240 W. The time setting is hidden under clock. The device then switches off automatically. All values are continuously adjusted using the rotary knob. Each setting is confirmed with a beep. The display shows the setting in large illuminated numbers. What I noticed here is that the device is equipped with a loud fan. But because I always have an extractor hood on at the same time, the fan doesn't bother me. What is positive again is that the fan quickly falls silent after switching off. Standby power consumption: 0.4 W. We always unplug. The induction hob is easy to clean. What you should do from time to time, turn the disk over and dust off the fan. It can add up very quickly. I've experienced everything. We all get along very well with the Varicook and give it the full 5 stars.

Raffreddamento a ventilazione, alimentazione: 220-240V, 50/60Hz.

What is the technique of induction cooking plates? Heat is generated by an electromagnetic field. When a ferrous metal container is placed on top of the plate, an electric inductor under the plate generates a magnetic field. This field creates currents called "Foucault" from the name of the inventor inside the pot. These currents transform the magnetic energy into heat, causing the pan to heat up, thus heating the dishes inside. The magnetic field, and consequently the heat, is released only in contact with the pot and only within its diameter. - Safety: there are no flames, in fact the heat is released by the magnetic field and only within the diameter of the pan in which you want to cook. There is therefore no risk of burning yourself by touching the plate near the edge. - Cleaning: since the plate is not hot, no encrustations are formed due to the accidental spillage of liquids. - Design: for those who love a modern and minimalist style, induction cookers are beautiful, linear and smooth. - Speed in heating food: for example for normal pasta, the time required to bring water to the boil is practically halved (obviously depending on the power used). - Absence of the danger of gas leaks, - Very precise control of the temperature variation of the pan (via digital displays): it is possible to stop boiling, to maintain a very low or very high heat, with a high precision that cannot be obtained with the traditional gas stove. - Cost of use not higher than that of gas: electricity costs more, but the induction cooker starts up only when needed, usage times are lower and efficiency is 90%. - Special pans required that must be made with steel with a high ferrous content, those in aluminum, glass, terracotta, or ceramic cannot be used, and are generally more expensive (although I have found quite cheap ones at Ikea for example) . - Different way of cooking: those who are accustomed to traditional gas stoves must revolutionize cooking habits and times. - It produces medium frequency electromagnetic fields, which however should not be harmful. For these reasons, and for a few others, I chose the Klarstein VariCook Single cooking plate, which is beautiful to look at in its stainless steel and glass ceramic guise, LED display and adjustment knob. Designed for pots with a diameter between 12 and 26 cm, total power equal to 1800W adjustable on 10 levels or alternatively temperatures to be adjusted between 60° and 240°C. Low heat emission into the surrounding environment. Overheating protection. Ventilation cooling, power supply: 220-240V, 50/60Hz. One of the strengths is its power and the temperature mode, with the VariCook you can use timed cooking programs with automatic shutdown after the end of cooking, choosing the temperature or the power. At the same time as it switches off, the plate will emit a sound to signal the end of the programme. Power levels: 200W, 400W, 600W, 800W, 1000W, 1100W, 1200W, 1400W, 1600W, 1800W Temperatures: 60 - 240°C - in steps of 20°C. Timer from 1 minute to 3 hours. Instruction manual in German and English. Proven for cooking pasta, the water really boils in about half the time taken on the gas, the dispersed temperature is insignificant and you can also program the plate to turn off, avoiding finding the pasta overcooked. Useful for singles or for show cooking, it combines practicality with aesthetic beauty. Another use for which to use Klastein VariCook is the need to maintain the cooking temperature of the food unchanged.
