Optisch ist dieser Plattenspieler ein totaler Hingucker. Die Qualität der integrierten Lautsprecher ist hingegen katastrophal. Glücklicherweise lassen sich per Cinch-Kabel externe Lautsprecher anschließen. Dann ist der Klang super. Wie bereits in anderen Rezensionen beschrieben, „eiert“ der Plattenteller ziemlich. Die sieht man allerdings nur aus dem Profil. Auf die Qualität der Wiedergabe wirkt sich das allerdings nicht aus. Die Auto-Stop-Funktion funktioniert nicht bei allen Platten. Es scheint, als sei sie so eingestellt, dass sie erst einen Tick zu spät greift. Alles in allem ein brauchbares Gerät.

Visually, this turntable is a total eye-catcher. The quality of the integrated speakers, on the other hand, is catastrophic. Fortunately, external speakers can be connected via a cinch cable. Then the sound is great. As already described in other reviews, the turntable wobbles quite a bit. You can only see them from profile. However, this does not affect the quality of the playback. The auto-stop function does not work with all plates. It seems as if she is set in such a way that she seizes just a tad too late. All in all a useful device.

Tonqualität völlig ausreichend um ein paar alte Scheiben zum Vergnügen zu hören, isst natürlich nichts für high-tech-vinyl-freaks, macht aber Spass und ist seinen Preis wert.

Sound quality quite sufficient to listen to a few old discs for pleasure, of course nothing for high-tech vinyl freaks, but it's fun and worth the price.

Grundsätzlich standen zwei Kaufgründe im Vordergrund: Ich wollte ein DAB+ -Radio, und ich wollte etwas Kompaktes für 12V-Versorgung, damit es auch im Camper betrieben werden kann. Beides war hier vorhanden, sowie zusätzlich die Möglichkeit, von USB oder Bluetooth wiedergeben zu können. Und als nettes Gimmick noch ein Plattenlaufwerk in senkrechter Bauweise, was ich ganz pfiffig fand. Also, für'n Hunderter sicher kein ganz grosses Risiko, irgendwas von den eingebauten Features wird schon funktionieren. Gut, fangen wir an. Zuerst der Plattenspieler. Okay, mehr als ein "Gimmick" ist es nicht. Der billige Plastik-Tonabnehmer läßt den Tonarm bei etwas kräftigeren Pressungen über die Platte hoppeln, als würde man mit dem Gerät Sackhüpfen machen. Die Tatsache, dass es an diesem Hobel offenbar keinerlei Antiskating-Vorrichtungen gibt und der senkrechte Aufbau irgendwie dazu führt, dass der Tonarm extrem zur Mitte zieht, macht diesen Umstand nicht besser. Okay, ehrlich gesagt, aus beruflichen Gründen kenne ich diese Billig-Plattenschrubber zu genüge und habe mir schon gedacht, dass es nicht besser wird, wenn man diese "Zumutung" nun senkrecht baut. Kurzum, meine edlen 180-Gramm-Ausgaben von Herrn Garbarek oder Herrn Morrison werden dort eh nie zum Einsatz kommen. Das würde definitiv den Tatbestand der Sachbeschädigung erfüllen. Die Stärke dieses Gerätes liegt ohnehin im Radio- und Verstärkerteil. Die Empfindlichkeit des UKW- und des DAB-Tuners ist befriedigend bis gut, dennoch werde ich einen vernünftigen Antennenanschluß nachrüsten und die Aussenantenne unseres Wohnwagens benutzen, wenn das Gerät dort fest integriert wird. Die Einstellmöglichkeiten für den Sendersuchlauf bzw. die Möglichkeiten, die Empfangsbereiche auch manuell durchzusuchen, ist in dieser Geräteklasse wohl einzigartig, genauso, wie die Anzeigemöglichkeit von Signalstärke und -qualität, die man an den meisten vergleichbaren Geräten vergeblich sucht. So kann man die Antenne jeweils optimal ausrichten. Die Bluetooth-Anbindung klappte problemlos, die Klangqualität ist so, naja, halbwegs okay. Einstellmöglichkeiten für den Ton gibt es nicht, lediglich einen Lautstärkeknopf, sowie einige nützliche Timerfunktionen. Achja, der Klang des Plattenspielers ist dem einfachen Kristallsystem entsprechend reich an Höhen und bettelarm an Bässen. Noch Wissenswertes: Eine Fernbedienung gibt es nicht, bei Wegfall der Stromversorgung verschwinden auch sämtliche Speicherungen. Falls es so aussieht, als wäre das Gerät irgendwie über eine App steuerbar, nein, Fehlanzeige. Das abgebildete Smartphone und die Bluetooth-Möglichkeiten, die in der Beschreibung erwähnt sind, beziehen sich lediglich auf die Musikübertragung. Steuern kann man da gar nix. Falls doch reichlich Platten gedudult werden sollen, gute Nachricht: Ersatznadeln gibt es hier im Versand im 6er-Pack für unter 20 Euro. Sie sollten auch regelmässig getauscht werden, denn wie bei allen Saphirabtastern gilt: nach 100 bis 150 Plattenseiten ist das Ding hin, bei dem mörderischen Auflagedruck dieses "Hightech"-Spielers wahrscheinlich noch früher. Alles in allem, siehe oben, eben ein "Nettes Musikspielzeug".

Basically, there were two main reasons for the purchase: I wanted a DAB+ radio and I wanted something compact for 12V supply so that it could also be operated in the camper. Both were available here, as well as the additional option of being able to play back from USB or Bluetooth. And as a nice gimmick, a disk drive in a vertical design, which I found very clever. Well, for a hundred it's certainly not a big risk, some of the built-in features will work. Alright, let's begin. First the turntable. Okay, it's nothing more than a "gimmick". The cheap plastic pick-up lets the tone arm hop over the record with slightly stronger pressings, as if you were doing a sack race with the device. The fact that there are apparently no anti-skating devices on this plane and that the vertical construction somehow causes the tonearm to pull extremely towards the middle does not make this situation any better. Okay, to be honest, I know these cheap record scrubbers well enough for professional reasons and I thought to myself that it wouldn't get any better if you built this "imposition" vertically. In short, my noble 180 gram editions by Mr. Garbarek or Mr. Morrison will never be used there anyway. That would definitely qualify as criminal damage. The strength of this device is anyway in the radio and amplifier part. The sensitivity of the FM and DAB tuners is satisfactory to good, but I will retrofit a reasonable antenna connection and use the outside antenna in our caravan if the device is permanently integrated there. The setting options for the station search and the options for searching the reception areas manually is probably unique in this device class, as is the display option for signal strength and quality, which you won't find on most comparable devices. In this way you can optimally align the antenna. The Bluetooth connection worked without any problems, the sound quality is, well, halfway okay. There are no setting options for the sound, only a volume button and some useful timer functions. Oh yes, the sound of the record player is correspondingly rich in highs and poor in basses according to the simple crystal system. Something else worth knowing: There is no remote control, and if the power supply fails, all the memories are lost. If it looks like the device can somehow be controlled via an app, no, none. The smartphone shown and the Bluetooth options mentioned in the description only relate to music transmission. You can't control anything. If you want to put up with a lot of records, good news: replacement needles are available here in packs of 6 for less than 20 euros. They should also be replaced regularly, because as with all sapphire scanners, the thing is dead after 100 to 150 sides of the record, probably even sooner given the murderous contact pressure of this "high-tech" player. All in all, see above, just a "nice musical toy".

Das Produkt ist optisch sehr schön und gut verarbeitet. Die Nadel hat eine eigene kleine Kappe, so dass sie nicht Staub ansammelt, wenn das Gerät mal länger nicht genutzt wird. Die Schallplatte wird durch einen Magneten in der Mitte stabilisiert, was sehr praktisch ist. Insgesamt ein schönes Produkt und der Klang auch gut, soweit man es für den Preis erwarten würde.

The product looks very nice and is well made. The needle has its own small cap so that it does not collect dust when the device is not used for a long time. The record is stabilized by a magnet in the middle, which is very practical. Overall a nice product and the sound is good too, as far as one would expect for the price.

Ich habe diesen vertikalen Plattenspieler als Geschenk für meinen Vater gekauft, der sich als Schallplattenfan sehr über dieses Gerät gefreut hat. Natürlich handelt es sich hierbei nicht um ein High-end Gerät, aber wer erwartet das auch bei dem Preis? Dieser Plattenspieler dient wohl eher als aussergewöhnlicher Hingucker, der dafür aber vom Klang und auch von der Verarbeitung her vollkommen ausreichend ist. Wer großen Wert auf "exzellenten Klang" und "größtmögliche Qualität der einzelnen Komponenten" legt, muss halt etwas tiefer in die Tasche greifen. Für knapp 100€ geht dieses Gerät hier voll in Ordnung.

I bought this vertical turntable as a gift for my father who, as a record fanatic, was very pleased with this device. Of course, this is not a high-end device, but who expects that at the price? This turntable serves more as an extraordinary eye-catcher, but it is completely sufficient in terms of sound and workmanship. Anyone who attaches great importance to "excellent sound" and "the highest possible quality of the individual components" has to dig a little deeper into their pockets. For almost €100, this device is absolutely fine.

Als ich die Box des Verticalo DAB Retro-Plattenspielers zum ersten Mal öffnete, war ich verwirrt, wie das Vinyl fast 90 Grad über dem Boden stehen und dennoch spielen würde. Aber als ich es in meinem Wohnzimmer anbrachte, verstand ich das ganze Konzept. Es gibt einen Magnethalter, den Sie oben auf das Vinyl legen, damit es beim Spielen nicht herunterfällt. Auch der Plattenspieler ist stylisch. Der Retro-Look passt hervorragend zu meinem Retro-Radio. Jetzt sieht mein gesamtes Soundsystem so aus, als käme es aus einem Science-Fiction-Film aus den 70er Jahren, genau dort in meinem Wohnzimmer. Die Klangqualität ist hervorragend. Sie haben auch die Möglichkeit, es an ein anderes Gerät anzuschließen, was diesen Plattenspieler zu einer hervorragenden Anschaffung macht, um meine alten Schallplatten anzuhören, nämlich in 78, 45 oder 33 1/3 rpm.

When I first opened the Verticalo DAB Retro Turntable's box I was confused how the vinyl would stand almost 90 degrees off the ground and still play. But once I installed it in my living room, I got the whole concept. There is a magnet holder that you put on top of the vinyl to keep it from falling off while playing. The turntable is also stylish. The retro look goes great with my retro radio. Now my entire sound system looks like it came out of a 70's sci-fi movie, right there in my living room. The sound quality is excellent. You also have the option of connecting it to another device, making this turntable a great purchase for listening to my old records, namely in 78, 45 or 33 1/3 rpm.
