Good boxes for celebrations

Zugegeben, professionellen ANsprüchen mögen sie nicht genügen, aber der Preis ist ok. Was technisch etwas problematisch ist, ist die Tatsache, dass die Hersteller die Empfindlichkeit des Line-Eingangs auf 0,775mV ausgelegt haben, das ist Heim-Linepegel (Tonbandgeräte). Wenn man daran einen Mischpultausgang anschließt, bekommt man sehr schnell Verzerrungen i mTieftonbereich. Ein vorgeschaltetes 10dB Dämpfungsglied entschärft das Problem, allerdings ist die "Riesenwumme" von den geträumten 200W dahin. Man muss, allen Schönrechnereien zum Trotz, schlicht sein Erwartungen in Richtung 60W Lautsprecher ausrichten, dann hat man auch nach oben noch etwas Reserve.

What is technically a bit problematic is the fact that the manufacturers have set the sensitivity of the line input to 0.775mV, which is home line level (tape recorders). If you connect a mixer output to it, you will very quickly get distortions in the low-frequency range. An upstream 10dB attenuator defuses the problem, but the "giant boom" from the dreamed 200W is gone. Despite all the nice calculations, you simply have to adjust your expectations in the direction of 60W loudspeakers, then you still have some reserve at the top.

Im letzten Sommer war es ja mal wieder soweit und die Fussball-WM zog alle in ihren Bann. Als Besitzer eines Beamers hat man da immer gute Karten, wenn man gerne im Rudel guckt. Dieses Mal wollten wir auch draußen schauen , grillen usw. und hatten alles aufgebaut, bis ich dann beim Probelauf des Set-Ups feststellte, dass man sich ja auch um den Sound kümmern muss, denn ein Beamer hat in der Regel nur einen sehr eingeschränkt nutzbaren internen Lautsprecher. Drinnen ist das noch ausreichend, draußen verliert sich der Klang aber völlig. Im Sommer war es dann so, dass wir zusätzlich zum Beamer, der Leinwand und dem Sat-Receiver mit laaangem Kabel usw. auch noch einen Verstärker und ein paar Boxen aufstellen. Das fand ich alles ziemlich suboptimal, zudem ich meine teuren Heimkinolautsprecher und den Verstärker nur ungern abgebaut und draußen aufgestellt habe. Also habe ich mir gedacht, dass ich mir bei nächster Gelegenheit ein paar Aktivboxen zulege. Damit spare ich mir ein ganzes Gerät, nämlich den Verstärker, und muss auch keine Angst davor haben, dass meine Wohnzimmer-Standboxen irgendwelche optischen Schäden nehmen. Ich wollte hier aber nicht all zu viel Geld ausgeben und schaute mir zuerst ein paar Boxenpaare im Bereich von 50-60 Euro an. Diese waren mir aber entweder zu schwachbrüstig von der Lautstärke und/oder zu wenig robust. Dann bin ich auf dieses Boxenpaar von Malone gestoßen, welches zumindest von den Werten her sehr vielversprechend klang. Nach Erhalt der Ware in zwei einzelnen Kartons war ich dann dennoch überrascht, wie groß und massiv die beiden Lautsprecher wirken. Die Verarbeitung ist sehr robust. Diese Boxen sind definitiv keine „Designstücke“, sondern sind absolut zweckmäßig für den Transport gebaut worden. So befinden sich oben und an den Seiten Handgriffe und unten mittig findet sich eine Vorrichtung, um die Boxen auf ein Stativ zu schrauben. Die Steuerung für den eingebauten Verstärker wie auch die Eingänge für Audio und Mikro befinden sich auf der Rückseite. Interessant: Das Mikro lässt sich einzeln regeln. Die Lautstärkeregelung für die Boxen sind übrigens ab Werk auf „0“ gesetzt. Das ist auch nicht verkehrt, denn die Dinger sind laut. Sehr laut! Im Haus habe ich gerade mal bis Stufe 2 gedreht, drüber wäre vielleicht mein Nachbar unruhig geworden, dabei haben wir sehr dicke und massive Wände im Haus. Die Klangqualität selbst ist recht gut. Gut, dies sind keine Boxen für ein Audiophiles Publikum, aber diese Kraftpakete können sehr wohl ein wuchtigen und differenzierten Klang wiedergeben. Ich habe zum testen ein Bluetooth-Modul angeschlossen und Spotify via Handy eingespeist. Das Ergebnis klang erstaunlich viril und energiegeladen. Danach habe ich mal den Blu-ray-Player angestöpselt und das Ergebnis entsprach ziemlich genau dem, weshalb ich mir die Boxen besorgt habe: Klarer, kräftiger Klang mit wahlweise hohem Lautstärke-Level und das ganze ohne externen Verstärker. Ich könnte mir auch gut einen Einsatz im Partykeller (habe ich leider nicht), für mobile Discos oder auch für Präsentationen in mittelgroßen Hallen vorstellen. Eines sollte man aber noch erwähnen: Diese Boxen lassen sich natürlich auch draußen verwenden, allerdings sind sie nur bedingt Wetterfest, da natürlich Regenwasser durch die Gitter auf die Membranen kommen kann. „Outdoor“ ist also in diesem Fall ein dehnbarer Begriff, wenn es regnet muss man die Boxen mit Folie abdecken. Aber für den Preis kann man sicher auch nicht mehr erwarten. Trotzdem meine uneingeschränkte Empfehlung für dieses Lautsprecherpaar. Power, Robustheit und Vielseitigkeit sind für diese Preisklasse einfach unschlagbar.

This time we also wanted to look outside, have a barbecue, etc. and had set everything up until I found out during the test run of the set-up that you also have to take care of the sound, because a projector usually only has one that can be used to a very limited extent internal speaker. This is still sufficient indoors, but the sound is completely lost outdoors. In the summer, in addition to the projector, the screen and the satellite receiver with a long cable, etc., we also set up an amplifier and a couple of speakers. I found that all pretty suboptimal, and I was reluctant to dismantle my expensive home cinema speakers and amplifier and set them up outside. So I thought to myself that I'd get a couple of active speakers at the next opportunity. This saves me a whole device, namely the amplifier, and I don't have to worry about my living room floor-standing speakers suffering any optical damage. But I didn't want to spend too much money here and first looked at a few pairs of boxes in the 50-60 euro range. However, these were either too weak in terms of volume and/or not robust enough for me. Then I came across this pair of speakers from Malone, which sounded very promising, at least in terms of the values. After receiving the goods in two individual boxes, I was still surprised at how big and massive the two speakers seemed. The processing is very robust. These boxes are definitely not "design pieces", but have been built with absolute purpose for transport. There are handles at the top and on the sides and there is a device in the bottom center to screw the boxes onto a tripod. The controls for the built-in amplifier as well as the inputs for audio and microphone are on the back. Interesting: The microphone can be regulated individually. Incidentally, the volume control for the speakers is set to "0" ex works. That's not wrong either, because these things are loud. Very loud! In the house I just shot up to level 2, my neighbor might have gotten worried about that, but we have very thick and solid walls in the house. The sound quality itself is quite good. Well, these aren't speakers for an audiophile audience, but these powerhouses can very well reproduce a powerful and differentiated sound. For testing, I connected a Bluetooth module and fed Spotify via mobile phone. The result sounded surprisingly virile and full of energy. Then I plugged in the Blu-ray player and the result corresponded pretty much to what I bought the speakers for: clear, powerful sound with an optional high volume level and all without an external amplifier. I could also imagine using it in the party cellar (unfortunately I don't have it), for mobile discos or for presentations in medium-sized halls. But one thing should be mentioned: These boxes can of course also be used outside, but they are only weatherproof to a limited extent, since rainwater can of course get through the grid onto the membranes. In this case, “outdoor” is a flexible term, if it rains you have to cover the boxes with foil. But you can't expect more for the price. Nevertheless, I unreservedly recommend this pair of speakers. Power, robustness and versatility are simply unbeatable for this price range.

Bis zu einer gewissen Lautstärke ist der Klang schon ganz gut. Ein guter Equalizer hilft hier. Auf der Box ist aber ein eindeutiger Indoorhinweis auf dem Etikett. Hier muss jeder selbst entscheiden, wie viel Outdoor die Bassmembran abkönnen soll/muss. Einen Hineis erlaube ich mir noch, bitte die Bewertungen zum Verkäufer genau.

The sound is quite good up to a certain volume. A good equalizer helps here. On the box, however, there is a clear indication of indoor use on the label. Everyone has to decide for themselves how much outdoor use the bass membrane should/must be able to withstand. I still allow myself a hineis, please the reviews of the seller exactly.
