Tips and tricks for buying a screen Which screen fits your needs best? 2 crucial factors - gain factor and type of fabric. The ideal gain factor The gain factor measures the reflective properties of a screen. The stronger the gain factor the more light will be reflected from the beamer and clearer the image. A high gain factor has the serious disadvantage that the image will appear darker at an angle. This factor is critical for home cinema. For the optimal home cinema enjoyment (about 3 to 8m distance) remember this: The small the gain factor, the better. At this distance the image is still great quality even for viewers watching at an angle. The ideal gain factor is 1.0 - even with a 1.5 gain factor you may have to make some compromises. Screen with a high fain factor a ideally suited in particular for presentations in large conference rooms. Fabric type The corrugation on projector screen fabrics can vary widely.Fabrics with more corrugation will have a negative effect on the image and shouldn't be used for home cinema. Our 493 g/m² screens have been optimized for home cinema and provide the clearest possible images. You should also ensure when buying a screen that the fabric can be cleaned.
