Schöner Klang, das hätte ich für den Preis nicht erwartet. Ich nutze die Boxen im Home Office an einer alten Hi-Fi Anlage und bin sehr zufrieden.

Das Paket war beschädigt, die Box zum Glück nicht. Lieferung folgte schon am 2.Tag, ein Tag früher, super, mit DHL versandt. Klanglich voll in Ordnung, wenn man den Boxen etwas Raum gibt und sie nicht zu sehr im "Regal" eingeklemmt und dabei auf eine ordentliche Ausrichtung achtet.

The package was damaged, but luckily the box wasn't. Delivery came on the second day, one day early, great, sent with DHL. The sound is fine if you give the speakers some space and don't jam them too tightly into the "shelf" and make sure they are properly aligned.

Nachdem ich mich ein wenig umgeschaut hatte, habe ich eigentlich diese hier haben wollen. Dann aber aufgrund des Preises die Octavox 702 vom gleichen Hersteller bestellt, jetzt, wo ich diese hier günstiger bekommen habe, gingen die Octavox dann zurück, ging ich davon aus, dass die Treiber der reference Serie wesentlich größer sind. Hier muss ich gleich enttäuschen! Ich habe nachgeschaut, wie man den Durchmesser von Membranen angibt, dies geschieht normalerweise entweder von Rand zu Rand der Membran, also der harten Scheibe in der Mitte, oder etwas großzügiger von der Mitte der sicke zur Mitte auf der anderen seite, weil das der Bereich ist der effektiv Klang erzeugt und sich bewegt. Auf meinen Fotos ist einmal die Membran mit Zollstock der Quadral Quintas 602 zum Vergleich drauf, die als 4 Zoll Lautsprecher auch ziemlich genau auf die 4 Zoll kommen (die Membran mit schwarzer staubschutzkappe) und die numan reference, die mit den ~12,7-13cm eher ein 5 Zoll Lautsprecher ist. Wie numan auf 16,5 cm kommt, ist mir nicht klar, (vielleicht ist das Marketing geschummel wenn man den Korb vom Lautsprecher mitzählt, der ja eigentlich für die Angabe komplett irrelevant ist, da er keinen wirklichen Einfluss auf die Größe der membran hat. wenn ich von Mitte der einen Sicke zur Mitte der sicke auf der anderen Seite messe, komme ich auf knapp unter 13 cm (entspricht einem 5 Zoll Lautsprecher) was ein himmelweiter Unterschied ist Zu 16,5 cm (6,5 Zoll) und höchstens nur marginal mehr (wenige Millimeter) als der Octavox 702 hat mit etwas über 12cm von Mitte der sicke zur anderen Mitte der sicke (bei beiden nach Augenmaß ungefähr den Durchmesser ) also kann ein kleiner messunterschied drin sein, aber keine 3,5cm!!! Nur so, rechne ich Die Fläche des Lautsprechers aus, die dann für den wumms zuständig ist, (Pi x Radius Quadrat) komme ich bei 13cm auf gerundet 143 cm^2 bei 16,5 auf 213cm^2 !!! Ein riesenunterschied in der Fläche der schwingkörper. Bei meinen quadral Quintas 602 wird von 4 Zoll Lautsprechern gesprochen und da sind es auch 10cm von der einen Seite der Mitte der Sicke zur anderen Seite. Nun, es ist wie gesagt möglich, Dass numan die Chassis hier mitzählt, also die Körbe mit denen die Lautsprecher in die Schwallwand eingesetzt werden, damit könnte man hinkommen, allerdings empfinde ich es als ungewöhnlich, das mitzuzählen, täuscht es meinem Empfinden nach doch größere Lautsprecher vor... Nun ja, warum finde ich es trotzdem als gutes preisleistungsverhältnis? Wir reden hier ja immernoch von günstigen Lautsprechern. Für mich sind auch 100€ ne Menge Geld, für Lautsprecher geht es aber wohl erst ab 600€ pro paar anscheinend richtig los, womit wir hier dann wohl ein Einsteigermodell haben für alle, die weder das Geld noch das Interesse haben, ein solches auszugeben. Auspacken war recht langwierig, steckten sie genau wie die Numan Octavox sicher in 2 Kartons, Schichten von Stoff und Plastikfolie und waren noch durch Styropor Platten geschützt. Stöße sollte den Boxen In der Verpackung nichts ausmachen, kann ich nur betonen. Zubehörtechnisch waren gummifüsse für die m8 Gewinde und Handschuhe zum auspacken dabei, die ich nicht gebraucht habe, die habe ich gleich in der Tüte gelassen und nur die Füße eingedreht. Thema Handschuhe. Ich weiß nich, wer die angezielte kundengruppe ist auf die die filzhandschuhe ausgelegt sind, aber die müssen wirklich winzig sein. Ja ich habe große Hände (10,5er Größe) aber selbst meine Schwester mit Händen, die vielleicht halb so groß sind, kommt sie nicht richtig in die schmalen Finger ein. Man könnte ja meinen, dass hier eher zu große Handschuhe beigelegt werden, weil damit allen geholfen wäre, leider nein. So viel zu dem Thema. Aber egal, wie ich festgestellt habe, kann man die Lautsprecherboxen auch mit bloßen Händen anfassen. Abgesehen vom Gewicht, welches eine hohe Wertigkeit vermittelt, meine ich in anderen Rezensionen gelesen zu haben, dass vernünftige Platinen verbaut werden, was ich super finde. Das Anschlussterminal hinten ist gut verarbeitet und sieht hübsch aus, sowohl Terminal als auch bassreflexrohr sind nicht schlicht sondern passen im Stil der ganzen Box designt. Ich finde es immer schrecklich, wenn ich mal Fotos sehe von Boxen, wo es aussieht als wäre beim Designer die Bearbeitungszeit um und es heißt: schnell eine Rückseite noch was dran klatschen damit es fertig ist und dann Stifte weglegen (m.M.n sind die Carbon ergo 620 da ein Beispiel für, wenn auch nicht das beste, Die technics sb 3610 noch deutlicher). Zurück zum Terminal der Numans, die farbliche Markierung rot/schwarz ist leider klein und schwer auf den ersten Blick zu erkennen. Die schallwand vorne ist im klavierlack super schick und weil die Lautsprechergitter (optional) mit Magneten aufgesetzt werden, sind auch keine hässlichen Löcher oder Hubbel für die Aufhängung vorne. SUPER! Sondern eine komplett glänzende Fläche in der klavierlackoptik mit dezenten Schrauben die es technisch und modern wirken lassen. Der vom metalllochgitter geschützte Hochtöner ist so gegen Eindrücken oder Beschädigungen geschützt. Verarbeitungstechnisch kann ich wenig sagen, soll meine Box B–Ware oder mit Gebrauchsspuren, aber technisch einwandfrei sein. Aufgefallen ist mir nur eine leicht schiefe Kante der aufgesetzten schallwand vorne, was aber wie versprochen keine Einbußen bzgl. Der Funktionsweise mit sich ziehen sollte. Abgesehen davon ist alles zufriedenstellend, keine Spuren, die Folierung sitzt super, auch bei näherem hinsehen meinerseits. Auseinander gebaut habe ich die Lautsprecher nicht. Am Onkyo Verstärker mit 2x90 Watt ist genug Power um ordentlich aufzudrehen und die Lautsprecher klingen sehr klar, ziemlich differenziert und nur im Stereo Aufbau könnte es feiner zu gehen, aber bis zu seeehr hohen Pegeln bleibt das Ganze Verzerrungsfrei. Fotos der Treiber mit Zollstock füge ich an, falls es jemand interessiert. Als Empfehlenswert empfinde Ich die Boxen auf jeden Fall, ob sie auch ihre Zeit durchhalten wird sich zeigen. Die Rezension spiegelt komplett meine subjektive Meinung wieder.

After looking around a bit, I actually wanted these ones. But then, because of the price, I ordered the Octavox 702 from the same manufacturer. Now that I've got these cheaper, I've returned the Octavox, as I assumed that the drivers in the reference series were much larger. I have to disappoint you here! I looked up how the diameter of membranes is specified, this is usually either from edge to edge of the membrane, i.e. the hard disk in the middle, or a little more generously from the middle of the surround to the middle on the other side, because that is the area that effectively produces sound and moves. In my photos, the membrane of the Quadral Quintas 602 is shown with a ruler for comparison, which, as a 4-inch speaker, is pretty much exactly 4 inches (the membrane with the black dust cap) and the numan reference, which at ~12.7-13cm is more of a 5-inch speaker. I don't know how numan got 16.5 cm (perhaps it's a marketing ploy if you count the speaker basket, which is actually completely irrelevant for the information, as it has no real influence on the size of the membrane. If I measure from the middle of one surround to the middle of the surround on the other side, I get just under 13 cm (corresponds to a 5 inch speaker), which is a world of difference to 16.5 cm (6.5 inches) and at most only marginally more (a few millimeters) than the Octavox 702 has with just over 12 cm from the middle of the surround to the other middle of the surround (roughly the same diameter for both by eye), so there could be a small difference in measurement, but not 3.5 cm!!! That's the only way I calculate the area of the speaker, which is responsible for the oomph (pi x radius squared), I get 13 cm, rounded to 143 cm^2 for 16.5. 213cm^2 !!! A huge difference in the surface area of the vibrating bodies. My quadral Quintas 602 are said to be 4 inch speakers and there are 10cm from one side of the middle of the surround to the other. Well, as I said, it is possible that you are counting the chassis here, i.e. the baskets with which the speakers are inserted into the baffle. That could be right, but I find it unusual to count that, as it gives the impression of larger speakers... Well, why do I still think it is good value for money? We are still talking about cheap speakers here. For me, €100 is a lot of money, but for speakers the price really starts at €600 per pair, which means we have an entry-level model for anyone who has neither the money nor the interest to spend one. Unpacking was quite a time-consuming process. Just like the Numan Octavox, they were safely packed in 2 boxes, layers of fabric and plastic film, and were also protected by polystyrene sheets. I can only stress that the speakers in the packaging should not be affected by knocks. In terms of accessories, there were rubber feet for the M8 threads and gloves for unpacking, which I did not need; I left them in the bag and just screwed in the feet. On the subject of gloves. I don't know who the target group of customers is that the felt gloves are designed for, but they must really be tiny. Yes, I have large hands (size 10.5) but even my sister, with hands that are maybe half the size, can't really get them into her narrow fingers. You might think that gloves that are too big would be included here because that would help everyone, but unfortunately not. So much for that topic. But regardless, as I have found out, you can also touch the loudspeakers with your bare hands. Apart from the weight, which conveys a high level of quality, I think I have read in other reviews that decent circuit boards are used, which I think is great. The connection terminal at the back is well made and looks nice, both the terminal and the bass reflex tube are not plain but are designed to match the style of the whole box. I always find it awful when I see photos of boxes where it looks as if the designer's processing time is up and they just say: quickly slap something on the back to finish it and then put the pins away (in my opinion the Carbon ergo 620 is an example of this, although not the best, the Technics SB 3610 is even clearer). Back to the terminal of the Numans, the red/black color marking is unfortunately small and difficult to see at first glance. The front baffle is super chic in piano lacquer and because the speaker grilles (optional) are attached with magnets, there are no ugly holes or bumps for the suspension at the front. GREAT! Instead, it's a completely shiny surface with a piano lacquer look and subtle screws that make it look technical and modern. The tweeter, which is protected by the perforated metal grille, is protected against impressions or damage. I can't say much about the workmanship - my speaker is supposed to be B-stock or with signs of wear, but technically perfect. The only thing I noticed was a slightly crooked edge on the baffle at the front, but as promised, this shouldn't affect how it works. Apart from that, everything is satisfactory - no marks. The foil fits perfectly, even when I took a closer look. I didn't take the speakers apart. The Onkyo amplifier with 2x90 watts has enough power to turn it up properly and the speakers sound very clear, quite differentiated, and only in stereo setup could it be finer, but the whole thing remains distortion-free up to very high levels. I've attached photos of the drivers with a ruler in case anyone is interested. I definitely recommend the boxes, but it remains to be seen whether they will last. The review completely reflects my subjective opinion.

Ich habe mir die Lautsprecher als Ersatz für die Bose SoundTouch 20 Series III gekauft. Betrieben werden die Lautsprecher mit einem Verstärker von Denon, und der Klang ist meiner Meinung nach hervorragend vor allem der Bass überzeugt meiner Meinung nach mit dessen Leistung, selbst bei hohen Lautstärken glas klarer Sound mit ausgewogenem Bass. Die Lautsprecher sind exzellent verarbeitet und waren sehr gut verpackt. Besonders gut gefällt mir das Modell in Weiß ohne Stoff-Schutz. Ich kann den Lautsprecher mehr als weiter empfehlen und ich denke, das dieses Lautsprecher in diesem Preissegment ungeschlagen sind. Eigentlich Schade, dass eine solche Deutsche Qualitätsmarke so unbekannt ist.. *Nachträglich* Die Lautsprecher klingen noch ausgewogener und besser wenn sie etwas Abstand zur Wand haben, also „Frei stehen“. Nach wie vor exzellent.

I bought the speakers as a replacement for the Bose SoundTouch 20 Series III. The speakers are powered by a Denon amplifier and the sound is, in my opinion, excellent. I think the bass in particular is impressive with its performance; even at high volumes, the sound is crystal clear and the bass is balanced. The speakers are excellently made and were very well packaged. I particularly like the white model without fabric protection. I can highly recommend the speaker and I think that these speakers are unbeatable in this price segment. It's a shame that such a German quality brand is so unknown. *Afterthought* The speakers sound even more balanced and better when they are a little distance from the wall, i.e. "free-standing". Still excellent.

Hallo, nachdem ich diese Boxen jetzt ein paar Monate in Verwendung habe, kann ich nun auch ein bisschen was dazu schreiben. Zur Verpackung: Die Boxen waren wirklich sehr gut und sicher verpackt. Es liegen auch ein Paar weiße Handschuhe bei um keine Fingerabdrücke auf der Front zu hinterlassen. Verarbeitung: Die Boxen sind weitestgehend sauber verarbeitet, was mir aber aufgefallen ist, am Rand der Bassmembrane sieht man in der Rille den Kleber (siehe Bild). Klang: Die Boxen haben einen sauberen Klang, da verzerrt auch bei höherer Lautstärke nichts. Der Bass könnte etwas mehr "bums" haben, sie sind also etwas Bassfaul, dreht man die Lautstärke etwas weiter auf macht er sich aber dann doch ganz gut bemerkbar. Ich verwende diese Boxen an einem Yamaha A-S501 Verstärker. Evtl. liegt es auch am Verstärker das der Bass in den unteren Lautstärken nicht ganz so rüberkommt. Trotzdem bin ich mit den Boxen sehr zufrieden, der saubere Klang, die gute Verarbeitung und der Preis. VG Holger

Hello, now that I have been using these speakers for a few months, I can now write a little about them. About the packaging: The speakers were really well and securely packaged. There are also a pair of white gloves included so that you don't leave fingerprints on the front. Workmanship: The speakers are mostly cleanly made, but what I noticed is that you can see the glue in the groove on the edge of the bass membrane (see picture). Sound: The speakers have a clean sound, there is no distortion even at higher volumes. The bass could have a bit more "oomph", so they are a bit bass-lazy, but if you turn the volume up a bit more, it is still quite noticeable. I use these speakers with a Yamaha A-S501 amplifier. It may also be the amplifier that the bass doesn't come across quite as well at lower volumes. Despite this, I am very happy with the speakers, the clean sound, the good workmanship and the price. Ich hatte die Lautsprecher für mehrere Tage im Test gehabt und ich kann nur gutes über die Boxen sprechen. Der Klang ist sauber, Bass ist da, nichts klingt falsch. Zuerst habe ich vermutet, dass nur gekaufte Rezensionen veröffentlicht wurden. Und dem kann ich jetzt widersprechen. Die Boxen wurden mit dem Onkyo A9010 angesteuert und die Kombo ist eine Bombe. Vorbehaltlos kann ich diese Lautsprecher weiterempfehlen.

I tested the speakers for several days and I can only say good things about them. The sound is clean, there is bass, nothing sounds wrong. At first I suspected that only purchased reviews were published. And I can now contradict that. The speakers were controlled with the Onkyo A9010 and the combo is a bomb. Hab mir die Lautsprecher für meine Drittanlage gekauft. Sie laufen an einem Little Dot Dac, Pro-Ject Pre Box und zwei Pro-Ject Amp Box Monos. Bedingt durch den Kaufpreis bin ich mit absolut keiner Erwartungshaltung ans Werk gegangen und wurde gleich vom ersten Moment an sowas von überrascht und geflasht. Was da raus kam aus den LS, und das nagelneu und ohne Einspielzeit, hätte ich nie erwartet. Satte Bässe, homogene Mitten und glasklare Höhen. Da muss ich den Ingenieuren von Numan echt ein Lob aussprechen. Sehr Wertig verarbeitet, da können sich andere Hersteller noch ein paar Scheiben davon abschneiden. Natürlich sollten sie auf Ständern stehen und mind. 1m von allen Wänden entfernt sein. Das ist keine Regalbox wegen der Bassreflex Öffnung hinten. Für mich eine absolute Kaufempfehlung, wenn man bedenkt das allein die LS Kabel schon viermal so teuer waren.

I bought the speakers for my third system. They run on a Little Dot Dac, Pro-Ject Pre Box and two Pro-Ject Amp Box Monos. Due to the purchase price, I went into them with absolutely no expectations and was so surprised and amazed from the very first moment. I would never have expected what came out of the speakers, and they were brand new and had no break-in period. Rich bass, homogeneous mids and crystal clear highs. I really have to praise the engineers at Numan. Very high quality workmanship, other manufacturers could learn a thing or two from them. Of course they should be on stands and at least 1m away from all walls. This is not a shelf speaker because of the bass reflex opening at the back. For me an absolute buy recommendation, considering that the speaker cables alone were four times as expensive.

Obwohl diese Lautsprecher das Stereodreieck nicht so akkurat darstellten wie meine Canton und die Abbildung anfangs sehr mittig ausgelegt war, habe ich diese Lautsprecher aufgrund des warmen Klangbildes behalten. Einzig den Mitteltonbereich differenzieren meine 3-Wege Canton natürlich besser. Zu meiner Verwunderung änderte sich nach mehren Wochen Musikhören die Stereobreite aus der Mitte heraus und die angenehme räumliche Darbietung gefiel mir ausgesprochen gut. An dem sogenannten Einspielen eines Lautsprechers ist wohl doch was Wahres dran! Bei 60 Tagen Rückgaberecht von Numan kann man diesen Lautsprechern gerne eine zweite Chance (längere Einspielzeit) geben.

Although these speakers did not represent the stereo triangle as accurately as my Canton and the image was initially very centered, I kept these speakers because of their warm sound. Of course, my 3-way Canton speakers only differentiate the midrange better. To my surprise, after several weeks of listening to music, the stereo width changed from the center and I really liked the pleasant spatial presentation. There is something true about the so-called breaking in of a speaker after all! With Numan's 60-day return policy, you can give these speakers a second chance (longer break-in period).
