Sonar Fishfinder- 100 m Portable Depth Finder Fishing Device

The OneConcept Fish Finder is a results-oriented fishing device which shows how populated fishing areas are to a depth of 100 metres with a scanning angle of 45°, regardless of the size of the fish.

The key component of the device is a sonar that transmits scan results through an 8 foot cable to the control unit. The gathered information is shown clearly on a 2 inch (5cm) screen, including the position and depth of fish, and plant and terrain imaging.

The OneConcept Sonar Fish Finder is user-friendly and effective in any environmental conditions. At night time or during poor visibility, backlighting will help make the screen visible but this is switched off during good conditions to conserve energy. In addition, the device has been designed to work in temperatures as low as -20°C degrees for use in ice-fishing.

The device can be mounted to the hull of the boat using the materials supplied, and can also be used as a hand-held device.

Designed to withstand adverse weather conditions, this handy and sturdy fish finder is the perfect size so as not to clutter up tackle boxes.

Fazit: Was will man preislich mehr erwarten. Wer es öfter hernehmen will sollte mehr Geld reinsteckei

Depth was not always shown exactly, and neither were fish. We had a direct comparison with colleagues. If you want to know the depth roughly in order to avoid snags, for example, then it's fine. To find fish or detect edges, no. The sensor is pulled along with a line, which is really annoying. You have to set the depth with a "foam part" and it often gets misaligned. Conclusion: What more can you expect for the price? If you want to use it more often, you should invest more money.

I ordered the above-mentioned fish finder from Duramaxx to get an idea of the nature of the subsoil, underwater vegetation, etc. in unknown waters. The fish finder is supplied with the following components: - Fish finder in a handy size of 7 x 12 x 3cm (WxHxD). This means it can be easily carried in a trouser or jacket pocket or stored in a small fishing bag. Four AAA batteries (not included) are required for power supply. I use rechargeable Panasonic Eneloop batteries here. The device itself looks pretty robust and can withstand a few splashes of water. - Sonar/sensor unit (approx. 5x5 cm) - sheathed connection cable between sensor unit and fish finder (approx. 8m long) - float 8cm Ø - 10-page operating instructions in English - holding strap - a small bracket for permanent installation on fishing boats - warranty card As the operating instructions are unfortunately only available in English, I recommend printing out the German version from the dealer's website (if required): [...] In order to familiarise myself with the functions of the device, I tested it today from the lake shore. The instructions mention that the cable must not sink to the bottom of the water. Therefore, I covered the cable with Styrofoam flakes every 10cm and secured it with parcel tape (time required approx. 20 minutes). Tip: The Styrofoam flakes are often included in the package as packaging material for fragile items. The connection cable is connected to the fish finder (plug connection on the upper part of the device) and the assembly can then be lowered into the water. I set the distance between the sensor unit and the float to around 20cm. After switching it on, you can adjust the sensitivity (I left the preset 5 bars here) and initially turn off the acoustic alarm. To be able to change the device settings in the on-screen menu, you have to hold down the setup button for 3 seconds and then you can call up the various menu items (sensitivity, battery mode, alarm, lighting) by pressing the setup button several times. If you press the setup and enter buttons together, you get to the menu for setting the water depth display. When displaying the water depth, you can choose between meters and English feet (1ft. = 30.48 cm). After a short wait, the display shows the nature of the bottom and information about underwater plants. After about five minutes, I was also shown fish populations. The display looked like fish were swimming past from right to left. According to the instructions, new populations are shown on the right-hand side. I have uploaded some additional pictures of the fish finder and the menus with the displays of the bottom and fish populations. Conclusion: Handy and simple entry-level model. The displays on the screen are easy to read even in direct sunlight. The bottom structure is clearly visible. For occasional use and use on bridges, jetties, sheet pile walls and from the shore, you certainly can't go wrong with the device. I can't say anything about use from a boat, as I don't have the opportunity. Regarding the accuracy of the depth information, I will test it again in another place where the water is generally deeper. I also had quite a bit of onshore wind, so I don't know to what extent very rough water influences the displays. Further updates on the points mentioned above will follow. Ordered September 28, 2015

Useful for fishermen and beyond! - GENERAL IMPRESSIONS Arrives in solid packaging. Product that appears well built and made to withstand intensive outdoor use. - FEATURES Since as usual the manual is only in English and very concise, I will explain here some things that I learned while trying to use the device. It is an echo sounder, that is, a device that emits sound waves to detect the presence of fish underwater, distinguishing them from stationary objects such as rocks or algae. It is divided into two parts: - Main unit to be held in the hand or placed dry, with the monitor and various controls. - The sonar attached to a cable equipped with an adjustable float so that you can decide the depth at which to position the sonar. By moving the float near the sonar, it will be positioned on the water surface. The sonar, after connecting it to the monitor, must be thrown or placed in water by holding the sonar itself and not the wire, because otherwise it could be damaged. The two parts connect via a jack. There is also a wrist strap and an attachment that allows you to attach the sonar to a fixed structure by tilting it appropriately, for example to the keel of a boat with which you go fishing. The sonar can scan up to 100 meters deep with a viewing angle of 45°. When in operation it signals on the monitor: - a graduated column on the right with 10 notches indicating the depth at which the last fish (the one furthest to the right) was detected by dividing the detected depth indicated at the top left of the monitor by 10. . - the image of one or more fish next to the column (as measurements are made, the right image is always the most recent and the older ones scroll from right to left. - any detections of stationary objects at the bottom with the design of algae or rocks. Power is supplied by four mini AAA pens. By pressing the power button the device becomes operational when the sensor is immersed in water. Pressing the SETUP button for a few seconds activates the menus at the top on the monitor, then by briefly pressing SETUP you move from one to the other. The ENTER key is used to change the setting of the active menu. From left to right, they mean: - Adjustment of the intensity of the signal emitted by the sonar battery energy - Sound on/off (signals detections with a beep) - Backlight on/off (if off by pressing a button the monitor lights up only for 3 seconds to save battery) - Battery charge level - Scanning depth in meters With very dirty water false signals could be detected. - CONCLUSIONS A well-studied, solid and very portable product. Especially useful for fishermen but also for ecologists or naturalists who wish to monitor the presence of fish fauna in the sea or lake. I tried it at Lake Arignano in less than optimal conditions because the water was muddy and therefore I could not have a visual verification of what was detected. However it seemed to work adequately, it detected fish and I know there are some there as I have sometimes seen herons and grebes with fish in their mouths. I intend to try it in June in the sea with clear and deeper water. However, even for extemporaneous use, it is a nice device that allows you to have fun in a different way than usual. I also imagine that fishermen should be thrilled with support like this. Price in line with similar products.

I bought the depth sounder because I have very little time for fishing. When I do go fishing, I want to use the time intensively and successfully. The device meets my expectations in this price range. Fish, bottom conditions and water depth are displayed reliably.

The fish finder worked wonderfully in the first few attempts. It showed the depth of the water and only when a fish swam past did you see it on the monitor.
