J'ai déjà une planche en bois de bout ( la façon des surfaces de coupe des bouchers ). Le type de construction qui ménage au mieux le fil des couteaux et permet d'espacer les aiguisage. Et je suis tombé sur ce billot en bois de bambou. A la fois massif et peu encombrant, belle facture et belle allure. Un plaisir des yeux autant que des mains. Poncé fin pour ôter la fine couche protectrice, profitant au passage de la chaleur ambiante, cela fait huit jours que je passe au pinceau de l'huile minérale pure ( vaseline) pour prévenir séchage et fendage, puisque : nettoyage à l'éponge humide après chaque utilisation. Avec quelques gouttes de citron , ou de vinaigre blanc en fonction des matières coupées - viande, poisson . Puis essuyage et séchage sur tranche, avant nouvelle enduction d'huile minérale. Neutre, inodore. Pour l'instant, couche d'huile de 24 en 24 h, intégralement absorbée. Ce qui assurera un billot aux fibres non seulement faisant barrière à l'eau, aux jus, et aux sucs, mais à la surface souple et respectueuse du tranchant des couteaux. Très content de cette trouvaille, bien moins chère que toutes les planches en bois de bout proposées à la vente. Une véritable affaire.

I already have an end-grain wood cutting board (the kind used by butchers). This type of construction best preserves the edge of knives and allows for longer intervals between sharpenings. And then I came across this bamboo chopping block. Both solid and compact, beautifully crafted and attractive. A pleasure to behold as well as to use. I sanded it finely to remove the thin protective layer, taking advantage of the ambient heat, and for the past eight days I've been brushing it with pure mineral oil (petroleum jelly) to prevent drying and cracking, since I clean it with a damp sponge after each use. I add a few drops of lemon juice or white vinegar, depending on the type of meat or fish I'm cutting. Then I wipe it dry and let it air dry before applying another coat of mineral oil. It's neutral and odorless. So far, I've been applying a coat of oil every 24 hours, and it's been completely absorbed. This will ensure a chopping block with fibers that not only act as a barrier against water, juices, and sap, but also have a flexible surface that's gentle on knife edges. Very happy with this find, much cheaper than all the end-grain wood boards on the market. A real bargain.

Man hat ja schon viel von dem Zeugs gehabt, aber mit diesen Brettchen hab ich wohl einen Glücksgriff gemacht. Alles passt so wie beschrieben. Kann ich auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.

Ich habe die Brettchen jetzt seit 5 Monaten in Benutzung und die ersten Oberflächenbeschädigungen sind mehr als deutlich sichtbar. Wir benutzen die Brettchen sicherlich mehrmals in der Woche, haben aber nur normales Besteck und auch keine kleinen Kinder mehr im Haus. Für immer mal wieder Wurst oder Käse zerteilen ist der Abrieb auf der Oberfläche zu deutlich. Ich hatte vorher 30 Jahre Vollholzbrettchen - diese werde ich auch wieder suchen.

I've been using the boards for 5 months now and the first surface damage is more than clearly visible. We certainly use the boards several times a week, but we only have normal cutlery and no small children in the house anymore. The abrasion on the surface is too obvious for cutting up sausage or cheese from time to time. I had solid wooden boards for 30 years - I will look for them again.

Praktische, stabile Unterlage Das Hackbrett wird in der beschriebenen Qualität und völlig unbeschädigt geliefert. Für Ein- bis Zweipersonenhaushalte reicht die Größe, Familien sollten über größere Angebote nachdenken. Auf ebener Fläche kippelt das Brett ein wenig. Die Ursache ist nicht ganz klar, weil es bei identischer Unterlegung aller Füßchen plötzlich stabil steht. Ich ziehe Silikon-Bodenschoner über die Bambusnoppen, was auch gleich den Schall etwas dämpft und erreiche damit perfekten Stand. Seither ist das Brett im täglichen Gebrauch als Schneide- und Hackunterlage. Nutzung verursacht die erwarteten Gebrauchsspuren, nicht mehr. Das Holz ist so hart, dass es scharfe Einwirkung gut aufnimmt, ohne den Messern zu schaden. Feuchtes Abwischen verträgt das erstaunlich dichte Holz sehr gut. Gelegentlich reibe ich es mit einer Zitrone ab und fette mit etwas Speiseöl nach. So bleibt es geschmacksneutral und lange Zeit ansehnlich. Ich bin hochzufrieden.

Practical, stable surface. The chopping board arrived in the described quality and completely undamaged. The size is sufficient for one- or two-person households; families should consider larger options. The board wobbles slightly on a flat surface. The reason isn't entirely clear, as it suddenly stands firmly when all the feet are placed on the same level. I put silicone floor protectors over the bamboo feet, which also dampens the noise somewhat, achieving perfect stability. Since then, the board has been in daily use as a cutting and chopping surface. Use has caused the expected signs of wear, nothing more. The wood is so hard that it easily withstands sharp impacts without damaging the knives. The surprisingly dense wood tolerates damp wiping very well. Occasionally, I rub it with a lemon and then apply a little cooking oil. This keeps it tasteless and attractive for a long time. I am extremely satisfied.

Den Stern Abzug gibt es dafür, dass die Bohrungen, an denen die Bretter an den Ständer aufgehängt werden, etwas größer sein könnten. Es ist also etwas schwerer die Bretter wieder an den Ständer zu hängen. Aber damit kann ich leben. Vor Benutzung habe ich die Bretter mit Öl eingerieben. Ich würde sie wieder kaufen.

Hochwertiges einwandfreies Produkt! Das Brotbrett ist nur zu empfehlen, schönes Design, Stärke des Brettes ist klasse, nicht so ein“ Brettchen“ und, obwohl es keine Gummifüsse an der Unterseite hat, rutscht es nicht und dreht sich auch nicht auf der Arbeitsfläche! Es ist also schwer genug! Die Verarbeitung ist klasse, keine Splitter oder scharfe Kanten wo man mit Schmiergelpapier nacharbeiten muss. Das habe ich bei vielen Rezessionen anderer Hersteller gelesen. Auch ist der Krümelrost perfekt eingepasst und hat eine seitliche Griffmulde zum entnehmen. Die Auffangschale ist tief genug zur Krümelaufnahme und das Brett hat auch nicht nach irgendwelchem Chemikalien o.ä. gerochen. Zu erwähnen ist auch noch die Umweltfreundliche Verpackung! Es lohnt sich also ein paar Euro mehr auszugeben wenn man sich nicht ärgern will. Das wird für mich auch nicht das letzte Bett sein, das ich hier gekauft habe : Top Produkt!

A high-quality, flawless product! I highly recommend this breadboard. It has a beautiful design, is wonderfully thick (not a flimsy board), and despite not having rubber feet on the bottom, it doesn't slip or rotate on the work surface! It's heavy enough! The workmanship is excellent, with no splinters or sharp edges that require sandpaper. I've read about this in many reviews of other manufacturers. The crumb tray fits perfectly and has a convenient side handle for easy removal. The tray is deep enough to collect crumbs, and the board didn't smell of any chemicals or anything like that. The environmentally friendly packaging is also worth mentioning! It's worth spending a few extra euros if you want to avoid disappointment. This certainly won't be the last breadboard I buy from here: Top product!

Die Oberfläche fühlt sich nicht holzig bzw. fasrig, sondern sehr glatt und gut verarbeitet an. Auch der Ständer ist sehr praktisch und ermöglicht ein kompaktes Verstauen der sechs Brettchen. Tolles Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, gerne wieder!

The boards came in plastic-free packaging and make a very robust impression compared to other products. The surface does not feel woody or fibrous, but very smooth and well made. Robuste, nachhaltige Schneidebretter aus Bambus! Wir sind in der Familie seit längerer Zeit dabei, Kunststoff zu vermeiden bzw. derartige Produkte gegen nachhaltigere aus Holz, Glas und Bambus zu ersetzen. Auch in der Küche haben wir bereits vieles umgestellt, und waren jetzt noch auf der Suche nach guten Schneidbrettern, die die alten aus Plastik ersetzen sollten. Da wir bereits andere Produkte von Bambuswald (Müslischalen, Teller und Küchenhelfer) nutzen, sollten auch die neuen Schneidebretter von dieser Firma sein, also haben wir das 4er-Set Schneidebretter bestellt. Geliefert wird das praktische Set wieder in einer nett gestalteten Verpackung aus Recyclingpapier. Im Set enthalten sind folgende Größen: 28x18cm, 33x23cm, 38x27cm & 40x29cm – im Prinzip für jeden (Küchen-) Zweck das passende Brett, durchaus auch zum Anrichten geeignet. Die Bretter wirken stabil und haben eine angenehm glatte Oberfläche – da ist es sehr praktisch, dass Bambus von Natur aus ohne weitere Behandlungen wasserabweisend und damit in der Küche sehr pflegeleicht ist. Die eingearbeitete Saftrinne, in der sich Flüssigkeiten und Krümel sammeln sollen, ist zwar praktisch, aber leider nicht 100%ig sauber gearbeitet – hier und an der Lochbohrung fanden sich nach dem Auspacken noch einige kleine Spreißel und minimale Holzabplatzungen, nach dem ersten Spülen waren aber fast alle Rückstände entfernt. Die minimalen Beschädigungen gehen in Ordnung, da Bambus eben ein Naturprodukt ist – im Zweifelsfall könnte man mit Schleifpapier nacharbeiten, in unserem Fall war dies aber nicht notwendig. Sehr scharfe Messer hinterlassen natürlich kleine Riefen beim Schneiden, dies ist aber bei Plastik nicht anders bzw. besser. Warum aber Bambus und keine einheimischen Hölzer? Bambus wächst unglaublich schnell (bei Idealbedingungen bis zu 1,6m pro Tag!). Mit einem derart schnellen Wachstum ist es im Prinzip fast unmöglich, den Pflanzenbestand zu gefährden, auch wenn erhöhter Materialbedarf besteht – ein "normaler" Baum braucht für 1,6m Wachstum Jahre! Zudem ist Bambus extrem widerstandsfähig, und beim Anbau müssen kaum Dünger oder Pestizide eingesetzt werden. Perfekt wäre natürlich, wenn der Bambus aus einheimischem Anbau käme – wer weiß, vielleicht ist dies in absehbarer Zukunft ja machbar. Fazit: uns gefallen unsere neuen Schneidebretter aus Bambus sehr gut! Aufgrund der Stabilität des Materials gehen wir von vielen Jahren Nutzung aus – die alten Bretter aus Plastik gehen in den verdienten "Ruhestand". Einen halben Stern Abzug gibt es für die nicht 100%ige Verarbeitung - in der Summe bleibt es dennoch bei 5 Sternen!

Robust, sustainable bamboo cutting boards! Our family has been trying to avoid plastic for quite some time now, replacing it with more sustainable products made of wood, glass, and bamboo. We've already made many changes in the kitchen and were looking for good cutting boards to replace our old plastic ones. Since we already use other products from Bambuswald (cereal bowls, plates, and kitchen utensils), we wanted our new cutting boards to be from the same company, so we ordered the set of four. The practical set arrived in a nicely designed package made of recycled paper. The set includes the following sizes: 28x18cm, 33x23cm, 38x27cm, and 40x29cm – basically the right board for every (kitchen) purpose, and even suitable for serving food. The boards feel sturdy and have a pleasantly smooth surface – it's very convenient that bamboo is naturally water-repellent without any further treatment, making it very easy to clean in the kitchen. The integrated juice groove, designed to collect liquids and crumbs, is practical, but unfortunately not perfectly finished. After unpacking, we found a few small splinters and minimal wood chips here and around the pre-drilled hole. However, almost all residue was removed after the first wash. These minor imperfections are acceptable, as bamboo is a natural product. If necessary, you could smooth them down with sandpaper, but in our case, this wasn't needed. Very sharp knives will naturally leave small scratches when cutting, but this is no different, or even better, with plastic. But why bamboo and not native woods? Bamboo grows incredibly fast (up to 1.6 meters per day under ideal conditions!). With such rapid growth, it's practically impossible to endanger the plant population, even with increased material requirements – a "normal" tree takes years to grow 1.6 meters! Furthermore, bamboo is extremely resilient, and its cultivation requires very little fertilizer or pesticides. Ideally, the bamboo would be locally sourced – who knows, perhaps that will be possible in the foreseeable future. In conclusion: we really like our new bamboo cutting boards! Because of the material's durability, we expect them to last for many years – the old plastic boards are now enjoying their well-deserved retirement. We're deducting half a star for the less-than-perfect workmanship – but overall, they still deserve 5 stars!
