Heating
What kind of heaters are there?
The most important time for heaters is of course during the cold months between October and March. Mobile heaters come into play exactly when permanently installed heaters do not provide sufficient heat or are not available at all. Different models are available for different uses. They inspire with innovative technologies, stunning designs and originality. Modern mobile heaters heat a room effectively locally, creating a warm and comfortable climate. Similarly, unused rooms often need to be kept away from the cold and protected from penetrating or spreading moisture with a heater. Mould can be prevented in this way. Mobile radiators also ensure the preservation of a dry and healthy structure. Certain heaters can also effectively support an enjoyable stay in outdoor areas, such as on terraces or balconies in the cold months.
But how do heaters transfer heat? Heating systems can transfer heat in two ways and are differentiated according to these. On the one hand there is convection, and on the other hand there is heat radiation. Convector heaterstransfer heat to the cold air in the room. The room air flows into the radiator where it is warmed up by convectors. It then flows back into the room upwards in the direction of the ceiling and falls down again on the opposite room walls. This creates a buoyant movement that allows cold air to flow in from below and creates air circulation. The room heats up as a result.
A radiant heater, such as a thermal wave heater, on the other hand, transmits the heat directly to illuminated bodies or objects. These give off the absorbed heat uniformly into the environment. Tiled stoves and fireplaces are good examples of this. Heaters that operate on the principle of heat radiation, are high-temperature radiators, such as electric radiant heaters, gas radiant heaters and infrared radiators. These can deliver and generate heat or heating energy over a greater distance or circumference. There is little or no air circulation in the room.
Which mobile heater is the right one for me?
First you need to answer the following questions:
- Why is the heater needed?
- Where do you wish to put the heater?
- What should be heated: objects, people or the surrounding environment?
For indoor use, mobile convector heaters, electric fan heaters or infrared heaters are available. In a state-of-the-art design, these radiators enrich the ambience of the living area. They can be used flexibly wherever they are needed. In addition to characteristics specific to each style of heater, other criteria must also be taken into account: energy source, wattage, type of heating system, energy consumption and effectiveness. Especially when being placed in a visible area, the heater’s optical design and how well it adapts to the living environment or its surroundings is also important. Electronic Star offers a wide selection of attractive and modern heaters.
A special highlight are electric fireplaces, with built-in fan heaters, backlights and vivid flame illusions. In a modern style or in authentic historical designs, they create a harmonious and romantic atmosphere as well as an effective heat output. Most of these devices are designed for indoor installation and at the same time for wall mounting. Some models are also suitable for placement in sheltered outdoor areas.
Outdoor areas can also be optimally heated. Infrared heater, patio heaters or radiant heaters provide warmth on terraces, on balconies, in gardens, in covered squares or in outdoor areas using heat radiation. With these heaters, you can enjoy outdoor areas even during the cold season.
Heaters for specific applications are also practical and useful. These include shoe and boot dryers for wall mounting. They always provide warm and dry shoes by means of electric hot air blowers and hoses. Another special device is a changing table radiant heater with soft lighting. With this device, the changing table can be heated up and babies can be pampered with warmth while their nappies are being changed. Other special heaters include heating blankets and heating pillows. They are electrically heated and provide soothing and relaxing warmth in cold winter nights and on frosty days.
Did you know that smart heating can save you money?
Most people know the most important energy saving tips when heating: 1. Ten minutes of forced ventilation consumes significantly less energy than a window kept tilted open for four hours, 2. Use a thermostat to set the optimum heating temperature, 3. Optimally seal and insulate your windows. However, very few people know that a reduction of even one degree in the room temperature can save 5 to 10 percent of energy - and about 200 kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions. A win-win situation for the pocketbook and the climate.
Did you know that infrared heaters are the chameleons of the heating world?
Infrared heaters are ideal for fitting in perfectly with the living environment for the simple reason that there is an incredible variety of infrared heaters. There are many freestanding mobile heaters as well as models made of fine glass and natural stone or presented in special designs. If you look closely, even some mirrors can be exposed as infrared heaters.
